Welcome to FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board
The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board started as a Pilgrims Welfare Agency in 1980. It was created primarily to handle the organization and execution of successful and near hitch-free Hajj operation particularly for the FCT Muslim population and every Nigerian wishing to perform the hajj through the FCT.
It was later upgraded to the status of a Board through a Decree in 1995 to enable it operate fully in order to achieve its set objectives.
FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board gets new Director.
The FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Aliyu has approved the appointment of Malam Muhammad Danmallam as the new Director for Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the board, Malam Muhammad Aliyu, made the disclosure in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja. Aliyu explained that the new director replaced Malam Muhammad Bashir, who had been given a higher assignment at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The PRO quoted the new director as calling for the cooperation of members of staff of the board and other stakeholders to ensure success in the discharge of his responsibilities, in line with the desire of the FCT administration.
Danmallam also stressed the need for the staffers to be dedicated to their duties and abide by the rules and regulations of the service. He added that his doors were open to constructive criticisms and meaningful suggestions to actualise the desire of the present administration in maintaining standards in hajj operations.
The new director promised to provide an enabling environment for the workers to provide first class services to the FCT pilgrims and ensure hitch- free hajj operations.
Until his appointment, Danmallam was the Director of Administration and Finance (DAF), FCT Primary Healthcare Board. An indigene of Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina state, Danmallam joined the services of the FCTA in 1990 and had held a number of positions in various departments and agencies within the FCTA.
The new director holds Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Sociology from University of Abuja and Master Degree from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, among other qualifications. He had attended various seminars and workshops, both at home and abroad, to enhance his career.
